My Win98SE is kept up to date through Windows Update. So is my Office 2000 SBE. My only other thought is that all this is a recent issue, starting sometime after I applied It did not lose my folders or settings (which I had backed up anyway). Neither did it solve the problem, one which MS ought to know about.

If you are IE5, "ie5setup.exe" will be in "C:\Windows Update Setup Files". (You may also use the copy in "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer", which is "C:\Progra~1\Intern~1" to DOS.)
